Asian Spiced Roasted Pork Belly

Ingredients
  • 1 kg Pork Belly
  • 1/2/ cup Sherry
  • 2 T Honey
  • 3 tspn Garlic
  • 2 tspn 5 Spice
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1 T Sesame Oil
  • 3 tspn Ginger
  • 3 cups Water
Method
  • Place pork in boiling water for 40 minutes and drain
  • Mix rest of ingredients and add pork, coat well
  • Cover and refrigerate for 3-8 hours, turning at least twice
  • Preheat oven to 200C
  • Place pork in a dish, skin side up on a rack with water underneath
  • Roast uncovered for 45 minutes
  • Meanwhile strain marinade into small saucepan
  • Simmer until reduced to 1 cup
  • Stir in water cornflour mix to thickness desired
  • Slice pork and pour over sauce
  • Cover with foil and cook in warm oven (160C) for a half hour and then serve
