Braised Red Cabbage

Ingredients
  • 90g butter
  • 300g (2 medium) onions, finely chopped
  • 1 small red cabbage, shredded
  • 80ml (1/3 cup) red wine vinegar
  • 125ml (½ cup) water
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 60g butter, extra
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
Method
  • Heat butter in pan, add onions, cabbage, vinegar, water, cloves and sugar
  • simmer uncovered
  • stirring occasionally for 60 minutes
