Information about Karla: Karla has always had a passion for cooking. She was such a huge help to me, from a young age of about 12, she would cook our dinner, whilst I was at work. All I had to do when I arrived home from work, was warm and serve it up. We are very grateful to Karla for being kind enough to share some of her recipes with us.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups self raising flour (sifted)
  • 1 cup cocoa powder (sifted)
  • 250 g butter (melted)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate topping
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup raw sugar
  • 1 - 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 3 tablespoons of jam (strawberry or raspberry)
Method
  • Beat all ingredients together
  • Pour into a greased cake tin
  • Bake in oven 180 - 200 deg C for approximately 40-45 minutes (depending on oven)
  • Cool on cooling rack for 5-10 minutes
