Golden Syrup Dumplings

Ingredients
- 1 cup SR Flour
- 20 g Butter, cubed
- 1 Egg
- 1/4 cup Milk
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 2 Tblspn Golden Syrup
- 1 1/2 cups Boiling Water
Method
- Preheat oven to 180C
- Grease a 4 cup ovenproof dish
- Rub butter into flour
- Mix in egg, milk and a pinch of salt
- Divide dough into 4, then 4 again
- Shape into 16 balls and put in dish
- In a saucepan put water, sugar and golden syrup
- Boil for 3 minutes
- Pour over dumplings and bake for 30 minutes
