




Nanna’s Scones

Ingredients
- 2 cups SR flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 4 square knobs of soft butter
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 - 3/4 cup milk
- 1 egg (mix together with milk)
- Extra flour
Method
- Combine flour, pinch of salt and baking powder
- Break up butter and mix through flour mixture with fingers
- Make a well in the middle of flour mixture using a knife
- Pour egg and milk mixture into well
- Bring all ingredients together with a knife
- Use hands to lightly knead dough on a floured board (extra flour)
- Spread dough out and use a cup / cutter to cut shapes of scones
- Flick a tray with water and line with grease-proof paper (water ensures paper sticks to tray)
- Place scones on tray and paint top with milk
- Cook for about 15 minutes on 200 deg C
