Pavlova

Information about Karen: Karen and her husband Les have inherited some wonderful recipes passed down from family members. She is an amazing "home" cook and everyone goes back for seconds. Karen has kindly shared some of her amazing recipes with us for this site.

Ingredients
  • 6 Egg Whites, room temperature
  • Pinch Cream of Tartar
  • 1 cup Caster Sugar
  • 3 tspn Cornflour1 1/12 tspn Lemon Juice
  • 1 tspn Vanilla Essence
Method
  • Preheat oven to 140C
  • Grease and line a deep springform pan
  • Beat egg whites and tartar until peaked
  • Add sugar gradually and beat well
  • Add cornflour and lemon juice
  • Beat 2 minutes on high
  • Spoon meringue into pan
  • Bake 1 1/2- 2 hours until crisp to touch
  • Turn off oven and open door
  • Cool at least 2 hours
  • Remove from pan and put on plate
  • Cover with thickened cream and fruit etc to your liking
