Ingredients
  • 4 eggs
  • Salt
  • 227 grams of caster sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 dessert spoon cornflour
  • Whipped cream
  • Fruit salad (passion fruits, sliced strawberries, crushed pineapple or bananas
Method
  • Beat the whites of 4 eggs, add pinch of salt and work for 5-6 minutes, gradually adding 227 grams of caster sugar .
  • 1 teaspoons vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence and beat until stiff.
  • Sift 1 level dessert spoon of cornflower and fold in lightly
  • Wet the plate with cold water than heap mixture onto the damp surface .
  • Using electric oven: preheat to 400* than set at 250* and bake undisturbed for 1 1/2 hours… no longer.
  • Using gas oven: bake for 10 minutes at 400* then for further 1 hour turned to low.
  • Top pavlova with whipped cream than decorate with fruit salad as desired .
  • Recommend are: Fruit salad or passion fruits, sliced strawberries, crushed pineapple or bananas
