




Stewed Steak with Sweet-Sour Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 kg stewing steak
- Seasoned flour (add any seasonings you wish to the flour)
- 30 g lard (dripping)
- Liquid stock of choice
- Liquid stock of choice
- Salt and Pepper
- 2 green peppers (capsicum)
- 1 dessertspoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of any thick sauce (BBQ)
- 2 tablespoons tomato sauce or tomato paste
Method
- Cut steak up into small pieces
- Shake steak in a bag with seasoned flour – ensure all pieces are well covered with the seasoned flour
- Fry lightly in lard
- Remove meat and make gravy in same pan as fried meat – add stock (use own judgement as depends on amount of gravy required)
- When bubbling, thicken with flour (again use own judgement to thickness of personal liking)
- Add sauces, chopped peppers (capsicum), lemon juice and vinegar
- Place meat in a casserole dish and pour gravy mix over the top
- Cook in oven on 140 deg for about 2 hours
