




Traditional Italian Pizza Dough

Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 ½ cups plain flour
- ½ cups warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Method
- Combine yeast, sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and water in a small mixing bowl
- Blend until smooth, cover and allow to stand 10 minutes until foamy
- Sift remaining flour into a large bowl. Make a well in the centre, add yeast mixture and mix to a firm dough
- Turn onto a lightly floured board and knead until smooth
- Punch dough down and work (either with hands or a rolling pin) into a round to fit a pizza tray
- Spread with olive oil
- Spread with tomato or bbq sauce
- Randomly place desired toppings over the base – equivalent to 1 ½ cups – including cheese
- Place into very hot oven on prepared tray and bake for 8-10 minutes or until cheese has melted, base is cooked through and crispy
- Try any of the following Vegetables Cheese and Meats - Eggplant, Feta, Smoked Salmon, Roasted Sweet Potato, Mozzarella, Tandoori Chicken, Artichoke, Parmesan, Semi-dried tomato
